Dharamsala:
Dharamsala has everything for a perfect holiday for the honeymoon goers because of its magnificent dense deodar and pine forests, tea gardens, beautiful hills, numerous streams of cool healthy air, attractive surroundings and the nearby snowline. That’s also the reason its called ‘lahsa in India'. This place is full of life and yet offers peace away from the noisy world. And, of course, the headquarters of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is here only. It is s busy bazaar town which has established itself as the travelers’ base camp, who mostly come here to explore the nearby mountains. There are various colorful temples reflecting the culture of Tibet and at the same time adding attraction for the visitors from all walks of life.

Places of Interest in Dharamsala:
When it comes to places of interest in Dharamshala, it is full of choices and choices. Kangra Art Museum, is a treasure trove of the Kangra valley's arts, crafts, and rich past, displays artifacts. St. John's Church, is one of the most poignant memories of the British Raj and is charmingly dressed stone church. McLeodganj, is often called the 'Little Lhasa, is the residence of the Dalai Lama. It has a host of Tibetan handicrafts and garments available on sale and every Sunday. Bhagsunath, is close to fresh water springs, and is a popular picnic spot. Dharmkot, situated on the crest of a hill offers an attractive picnic spot with a panoramic view of the Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar ranges. Kunal Pathri, is a rock temple which is just a 3 km level walk from the Kotwali Bazaar and last but not the least Triund, is a place from where the snowline is just starts 5 km away and is a popular picnic spot and trek-route offering magnificent view of the mountains and valleys.

Nearby Attractions from Dharamsala:
Tilokpur (41 km from Dharamsala) on the highway to Pathankot, there is a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Sujanpur (80 km from Dharamsala) a historic town is famous for its wall paintings, temples and fort. Masrur, 15 richly carved monolithic rock temples molded in the splendid style of the Kailash temple at Ellora are a must watch. Triund (17-kms from Dharamsala) is a popular picnic spot situated on the foothills of Dhauladhar range and moreover the breathtaking views of the mountains and the valleys makes Triund an ideal picnic spot and trekking spot.

How To Get There:
Dharamsala can be easily accessed by air from Delhi. The nearest airport Gaggla (13 km) and the nearest railway station Pathankot (85 km) makes the journey very convenient. For road travel, taxis are a good option which are available at both places; from Pathankot (3 hours drive) and from Delhi (around 8 hours, 526 km) via Chandigarh, Kiratpur and Bilaspur. Even luxury buses also ply from the nearby places.

Adventure Activities and Sports:
Between May and October, the Dhauladhar ranges offer an enormous variety of trekking and rock climbing. Himachal's Mountaineering Institute has a branch at Dharamsala. The 20 km stretch of the river Beas between Nadaun and the Pong Dam offers ample opportunities in angling for fishing. For the shopping lovers, there is abundance of shops selling local handicrafts at Kotwali Bazar, Tibetan handicrafts and carpets at McLeodganj. One can even enjoy trekking here.
